Our members are certainly Hospitality veterans, but we’re also provide technical support, event management and logistics, online and social media moderators, registration volunteers, and more.

We’re all about the idea that Mensans like to have fun—and we make sure everyone does.

What do we do?

We throw parties. We attend parties. Loud ones, quiet ones, massive bashes, cozy get-togetherss—we do them all. If everyone involved (and even those affected!) has good memories afterward, it’s a HELL’s M’s party!

While some think of HELL’s M’s as a volunteer SIG, we’re really a Party SIG. It’s not just about attending, though—many hands make light work. Pitching in to help throw the party can be as much fun as attending.

A Little History

HELL’s M’s began as a joke in a hot tub just before the joint U.S./Canadian Mensa Annual Gathering in 1988—and somehow turned into a full-fledged SIG at the AG. You can read the detailed history, as told by Archangel Skinner.

Party Animals and Big Gatherings

Our members shine at Regional Gatherings (RGs) and the Annual Gathering (AG)—and many take things to the next level as Party Animals. Started in 1989, this special chapter recognizes those who go above and beyond in spreading the fun. Rules, rewards, and bragging rights included.
